Prefectural Maruyama River Park

We hold planned exhibitions of modern and contemporary arts, about 200 days in a year. Facilities for Canoe, kayak, pool in summer, and skate in winter are just next door.

Homeland for the Oriental White Stork

This park is the base facility for protecting and proliferating the oriental white Storks. In the huge site there are the opened cages to the public to show the ecology of storks.

Eco museum center for Oriental White Stork

A center for research as well as display of artfacts that have been excavated from around Toyooka.Includes objects from tombs of the Yayoi to the Tumulus period.

Kinosaki Museum

Here is displayed Buddhist images,paintings, and historical documents which belong to the Onsenji temple. We are also displaying potsherds, and cultural assets. The museum is close to the Onsenji temple.

On display are manuscripts, paintings and calligraphic works of the men of culture as well as Naoya Shiga, and Touson Shimazaki who are related to Kinosaki.

Kinosaki Straw Work Museum

Displayed here is Kinosaki's specialty; a wide variety of straw works, in the warehouse-style structure. On the first floor, contemporary craftsmen's works are displayed. On the second floor, from Edo period to Syowa period works are displayed.

Oyojikan "Sumiyoshiya Historical Materials Museum Kousei Nakata Memorial Hall"

We repaired and restored the estate of the village headman.It is more than 300 years old, and now is used for the material pavilion and exhibition of Kousei Nakata's calligraphy. Tea and meals are available.

Uemura Naomi Memorial Museum

This is the memorial Museum of Naomi Uemura(recipient of a National Honor Award) an international adventurer who was born in Hidaka. Various equipment and useful items from his travels are on display. You can see many rare images on the big screen.
