Toyooka city is located in the north east of Hyogo prefecture. To the north is the Sea of Japan . To the east is Kyoto prefecture. Toyooka is positioned about 100km from the Prefectural government ( Kobe city). About 40km from east to west and 30km from north to south. The Gross area is 697.66km2 which occupies 8.3% of Hyogo prefecture. Along the coast is the San-in kaigan national park. It has complicated geographical features in which strange rocks and bizarre stones range.
Eternity river “Maruyama River” and purity river ”Takeno River” flow into the Sea of Japan. Along the Maruyama river there are plains. And also there are “Kinosaki Hot Spring” and “Silk Hot Spring” because it is a volcanic zone region with unique geological features.

| Weather is "Sea of Japan-type climate." Strong monsoon from the North West causes lots of snow in winter. The average yearly precipitation is 2,065mm. Precipitation is twice as much in winter than in summer. In the mountainous regions the first snow of the season is in late- November and it disappears in mid- May. |
